Well, so far so good - Ettie was pretty sure that the incense might be working? More often than not as she rode along with Anne, Barbara would linger closer than usual - clearly seeming to like the smell of it. And in addition to such, the first wild pokemon that they'd come across - a purrloin - was a dark-type as well!

The feline pokemon did not seem very keen on lingering, however. For she would take one look at the pack - which was, of course, a large number of dogs - and decided to immediately turn tail, darting back into the surrounding foliage. Anne would raise an eyebrow as she watched the disappearing tail of the feline pokemon, but shook her head - deciding to simply move on, and see what else they could find.

Though before they continued onwards, Ettie took the time to switch mounts, moving from Anne's back to Barbara's - if only so that the houndoom could better enjoy the smell of the incense, without risking tripping Anne up by straying too closely.

Before long, Ettie and the pack would come across some more dark-types - namely a few Weavile, which could be seen perched up in the branches above. Though the group of weasel pokemon regarded Ettie and her pack for a few moments, they soon decided to turn their gazes onto the real goal - a nest belonging to some bird pokemon. Ettie watched as they crept forward slowly but surely, clearly looking for a quick and easy meal...

... But then, out of nowhere, the parents made their presence known - a flurry of feathers and rage-filled shrieks filling the air as something dove down from the canopy above, sending a pair of Weavile falling into the undergrowth below with a raucous crash!

Though it had happened a bit too quickly for Ettie to discern what the nest had belonged to, she also knew better than to stick around an angry and overprotective mama or papa pokemon. Thus, nudging at Barbara's sides, the pack continued onwards - eager to see what else the incense might draw in. Although, the smoke that was billowing out from it was starting to thin out, Ettie was pretty sure - was it getting close to running out?

And finally, there was a sableeye lurking in the shadows. Much like before, Ettie and co would watch the ghost-type as they moved through the undergrowth - visibly curious... Although, all the same, Ettie couldn't help at least a little disappointment. The incense didn't appear to have anything left to burn in it, and though it most definitely worked as advertised, she didn't find any new friends...

... Ah well. Stuffing the now-cooled and empty Incense into her bag, Ettie would move back to hopping onto Anne's back - as they continued on through the undergrowth. It'd just be a little while longer, before they could near Mt Pyre, after all...
